About Project
Content
In Chiang Mai province, 19.3% of the population are considered obese. According to the Ninth National Economic and Social Development Plan (2002-2006), if obesity exceeds 10%, it will be a major problem that should be solved urgently. The obese children and adolescents are likely to be the obese adults in the ratio about 1 out of 5 and 3 out of 4 respectively. Consequently, the obesity in teenager is more associated with the obesity in adult. The study of socioeconomic factors affecting the obesity of the students will determine the causes and contribute to problem solving.
