Biography

Picharee Karunayawong is a researcher and economist at the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program Foundation (HITAP). Her work focuses on data-driven and quantitative research aimed at improving the efficiency of national health systems and reducing the use of low-value care. She works closely with the policymakers, participating in several working groups under the National Health Security Office (NHSO). Picharee is also interested in promoting equity in healthcare by applying distributional cost-effectiveness analysis (DCEA) to health technology assessment (HTA). She collaborates with EquitAP-HTA network to advocate for equity in HTA across the Asia-Pacific region.
