Biography

Brandon Chua is a Senior Associate at HITAP. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) and PhD (Public Health) from the National University of Singapore. Prior to HITAP, Brandon has cross-sectoral experiences spanning hospital, industry and academia with expertise in clinical practice, market access, health economics and health outcomes research. His work has contributed to national and regional efforts to strengthen healthcare systems and shape evidence-informed policies. In 2022, Brandon was selected as one of 15 professionals from Southeast Asia for the inaugural ALHPA Public Health Fellowship Program.

As a licensed pharmacist and public health researcher, Brandon is committed to advancing equitable healthcare access and improving health outcomes, particularly in low-resource settings. At HITAP, he leads evidence synthesis to support evidence-informed decision making in health policy, with focus on migrant health, neglected tropical diseases, as well as women’s and children’s health. He also oversees and delivers capacity building initiatives in health technology assessment and health system strengthening in collaboration with country partners and development partners across Asia and Africa. In addition, Brandon coordinates international multi-stakeholder collaborations to advance the use of evidence in policy making, including contributing to global initiatives such as the Lancet Commission on Strengthening the Use of Epidemiological Modelling of Emerging and Pandemic Infectious Diseases.
