Biography
Shiela is an Associate at the HITAP International Unit. She holds a doctoral degree in Microbiology and currently leads antimicrobial resistance (AMR)-related projects at HITAP, in collaboration with international partners such as the University of Oxford, City St George’s University of London, and global organizations including the World Health Organization.
Prior to joining HITAP, she served as an Assistant Professor at a leading university in the Philippines. She also brings extensive academic and research experience from various international institutions, including the Medical Molecular Biology Research Unit at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) in Thailand, Academia Sinica in Taiwan, Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg in Germany (summer program), and the Tokyo Institute of Technology (now Institute of Science Tokyo) in Japan, where she completed her doctoral studies.
