Biography

Pritaporn Kingkaew has been a researcher at HITAP since 2007. She graduated from a joint programme between Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand and the University of Nottingham, UK in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy. In 2009, she was awarded the HITAP scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of York and graduated in 2010. She was awarded the Capacity Building on Health Policy and System Research (CapHPSR) fellowship to pursue PhD from 2014-2018. She has completed her PhD from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 2018. Her PhD research focuses on designing and evaluating mobile health behaviour change interventions for smoking cessation in Thailand.

She shows special interest in research related to health technology assessment using economic modelling. Her previous research projects include technology assessment related to drugs for treatment of diseases such as osteoporosis and renal cell carcinoma; vaccines such as dengue vaccine; screening programmes for diseases such as osteoporosis, tuberculosis, and diabetes; medical technology such as cochlear implants; and public health interventions such as a feasibility study of the Community Health Initiative for Maternal and Child Health in Myanmar and HIV prevention activities targeting those most at risk from HIV/AIDS.
